We are here to help!

Having an aggressive or reactive dog can be a challenging experience for any pet owner. The constant worry and fear of their behavior towards other animals or people can weigh heavily on your mind. You may feel like you are not doing enough to manage your dog's reactivity, or worse, that you have somehow failed as their owner and are considering rehoming or behavioral euthanasia in severe cases. However, it is important to understand that aggression and reactivity in dogs is not uncommon and can be caused by various underlying factors. These can include but are not limited to, a lack of socialization, past traumas, fear, lack of confidence, frustration in their environment or even medical issues. The chances of your dog having aggression in their genetics is less than 11% in pet dogs, making it more of a learned behavior that has a greater chance of success with proper training and intervention. As an experienced Trainer and Behavior Specialist that specializes in aggression, I understand the importance of addressing and educating clients as well as evaluating and diagnosing the individual dog in front of me. Aggressive behavior in dogs is one that requires understanding and patience. It is crucial to identify the root cause of your dog's aggression/reactivity to develop an effective training plan for both managing and improving their behavior. Remember, having an aggressive/reactive dog does not mean you have failed as a pet owner. By acknowledging and addressing their behavioral issues, you are taking proactive steps to improve their well-being and quality of life. It’s not something that can be fixed overnight, but with some guidance, consistency and a dedicated handler, you and your dog will be on your way to living your best life, the Good Life!
